Welcome!

I am Lynn K. Girvin, the managing attorney at the Law Office of Lynn K. Girvin.

I have been practicing law for almost twenty-five years and absolutely love what I do. The focus of my practice is on estate planning designed for your unique family and financial situation. One size does not fit everyone so I pay close attention to detail and take great care in crafting an individualized estate plan just for you.

I currently live in Costa Mesa with my husband and these three busy young boys and understand the costs associated with raising a family in Orange County. And I share the same concerns as other parents of young kids such as who will we name as guardian of our minor children and how do we want their inheritance distributed? I understand, firsthand, the needs of growing families and that most people don't want to deal with attorneys or the financial part of putting an estate plan together. I prepare your plan based on a flat fee so there are no surprises. And you can call me any time with questions without the anticipation of an invoice afterward.

I'm confident that you will feel great with your finished product, secure in the knowledge that your family is taken care of.

But don't just take my word for it, click here to see what my happy clients are saying!

We strive to make the process of planning your estate

as easy and painless as possible.

Estate Plan Essentials

Our focus is on planning for your estate. We will evaluate your estate and assets and create a plan that's just right for you. Our comprehensive estate plan typically includes a Will, Revocable Trust, Power of Attorney, Health Care Directive, and supporting documents.

We make sure you are covered.

College Care Package©

Do you have a child leaving for college? Did you know that when your child turns 18 you may not have access to assist with medical decisions? We have created an affordable College Care Package© to ensure that you are able to make healthcare decisions should your child be unable to do so. Don't let your student leave home without it!

Incapacity Planning

Incapacity can creep up in the form of dementia or hit from out of the blue. It is always best to be prepared for what life throws your way. As part of our estate planning services, we provide the documents necessary for your loved ones to take care of your affairs. Then when you regain capacity you can pick up where you left off.

Special Needs Trusts

Do you have a loved one that you want to provide for after your death? You can name a trustee to control funds in a Special Needs Trust. Social Security and Medicaid administrators ignore the trust property for program eligibility purposes so your loved one is able to maintain a certain standard of living without depleting trust funds.

Legal Documents for Minors

There are times when we can't always be there for our kids.  Sometimes we leave them in the care of others so we can go on vacation; or we may undergo medical treatment and not be available. Regardless of the circumstance, you always want to make sure our kids are cared for. We can help you get documents in place for your minor children should you be unable to make decisions for them.

Convenience

We pride ourselves in providing convenience for our elderly and working clients. We are happy to meet on days and at times that work best for you.  We understand how everyone is busy with life and we want to make this process as painless as possible.

Trust Funding

One of the most important aspects of setting up your trust is making sure it is funded.  Funding is the process by which assets are placed in your trust. This sometimes overlooked process can lead to headaches for your trustee. We will guide you through funding your trust.

Complimentary Reviews

We will happily chat with you about your current plan and provide options about whether to update your documents and how to go about it. Remember that updating estate planning documents usually requires that you use the same method that was used to create the document in the first place.

Pet Trusts

Is your pet a member of your family?  Do you want to make sure that your pet is also cared for in the event you are unable to do so?  We can help you get your pet trust in place so your best friend is all set up!

Happy Clients

"I met with Lynn to review my current documents and make some updates. I had concerns about the law and potential complications but Lynn was so professional and thorough. She made the process so simple for me."
